HEAVY EQUIPMENT TECH/MECHANIC
The The Newaygo County Road Commission is accepting applications for a licensed Heavy Equipment Tech/Mechanic. This is a full-time position with benefits. The successful candidate must have general knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and be able to conduct minor and major mechanical maintenance and repairs on road commission fleet. The candidate should have an understanding of hydraulic, electrical, diagnostic and air brake systems with certification in these areas preferred.
Requirements include: a high school diploma or equivalent with additional relevant vocational training in Automotive Technology preferred; possession of a valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement or ability to acquire one; successful completion of a physical examination and a substance abuse test.
